2017 Health and Wellness Fair
Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center (HSNHC) hosted its annual Health & Wellness Fair at One Franklin Park Road (near Franklin Park Zoo Entrance and Blue Hill Avenue) on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In sponsorship with Carney Hospital, CeltiCare, Franklin Park Zoo, Neighborhood Health Plan, Senior Whole Health, CareGiver Homes, United Healthcare, Stop & Shop and Breakstone, White & Gluck connected community members with helpful information and resources.
Although the day started off with light drizzle and wet grass, the event was well attended by many patients, community residents, HSNHC board members, and the Executive Director of Greater Grove Hall Main Streets, Ed Gaskin.
The event engaged all attendees in a handful of activities that will improve their health and well-being. Numerous individuals stopped by the fair to get information from participating vendors and to get their blood pressure or glucose checked. Event guests also enjoyed body moving music from Dj Drock and got their face painted by Zakyia Watkins of At Peace Arts, and jumped around in the moon bounce. “This is such an important event, as it provides information about HSNHC services, promotes community health and wellness, and builds awareness about the various resources provided by other agencies in our community," said Stan McLaren, President and CEO of Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center.
We couldn’t have pulled off this event without our sponsors and participating vendors. Thank you to all who made this year’s Health & Wellness Fair a success.
