All services are provided in
a confidential manner and are geared to the particular
needs of our low-income, inner city, predominantly
Black Community. Due to our location ad commitment,
almost all of Harvard Street's 8,000 clients are
people of color including: 83% African-American,
14% Haitian and West Indian, and 3% Hispanic.
Harvard Street employs a staff that is reflective
of our client population including several who
are bilingual speaking Spanish, French/Creole,
and Portuguese. The staff composition is currently
55% African-American, 18% Haitian, 9% West Indian,
8% White, 3% Asian, and 7% Other minority.
The agency is certified as a “Minority Provider”
by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is located
in a federally designated “Empowerment Zone.”
